Frederick Douglass was born a slave but went on to become one of the most powerful voices for emancipation of all slaves. This colorful pin is from a 1913 exposition that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln. A spectacular pin picturing a giant figure in the fight to free the slaves. A slight crimping issue on back edge at 7, otherwise excellent with Bastian Brothers back paper.
