A rare Adlai Stevenson pin that suggested a Stevenson-John F. Kennedy ticket in 1956. The youthful JFK was one of the leading vice presidential possibilities that year but the nomination eventually went to Estes Kefauver. This 3 inch celluloid was made by the Emress Co. of New York City, has a small bump at upper right. Kennedy came with 15 votes of becoming Adlai’s running mate – this was the last time a Democratic VP race went beyond one ballot. First time we’ve ever had this pin, which comes from Paul Butler’s Stevenson collection.
