Horatio Seymour of New York and Frank Blair of Missouri are pictured on this stunning ferrotype jugate from 1868. Blair had led Democratic opposition to the Lincoln administration as governor of New York during the war. Blair, a former Union general and one-time Republican, was put on the ticket to help balance things out. They didn’t have a chance against U.S. Grant in 1868, but they did leave behind this remarkable 1 1/8 inch jugate. Spectacular condition and the mate to the Grant-Colfax pin above.
