Rare New Mexico coattail pin from 1940. John E. Miles was a rarity in Western politics at the time – he had Cherokee blood in him and his wife was a member of the Choctaw Nation. He won the election for governor in 1938 and this 1 1/4 inch celluloid was part of his successful re-election campaign in 1940. St. Louis Button Co. back paper, excellent.
