Spectacular! That’s the only way to describe this Lincoln-Johnson jugate from 1864. It’s a 1 1/4 inch brass with ferrotype images of the candidates used at the height of the Civil War to campaign for Lincoln’s re-election. Sherman was marching on Atlanta and Grant was fighting his way across Virginia when this campaign piece was forged. Original Lincoln image, Johnson has been replaced. No pin, otherwise excellent. This terrific presidential has had the second most hits of all the items in this sale.
