Jeannette Rankin was the first woman elected to Congress. An avowed pacifist, she was from Montana and was elected in 1916, taking her seat in time to vote against entering World War I. She then lost her seat only to run again in 1940, when she was elected and, yes, you guessed it -- she was the only member of Congress to vote against entering World War II. She later resurfaced with the anti-war movement during the Vietnam War. This 1 inch celluloid is a Rankin for Congress pin in excellent condition.
