John Palmer and Simon Bolivar Buckner went from enemies to partners. Palmer fought for the Union in the Civil War and Buckner fought for the Confederacy. Both men served as governors of their states then in 1896, they joined forces on the presidential ticket for the Gold Democrats. This very scarce 1 1/4 inch celluloid picturing them has a Whitehead and Hoag back paper and is in excellent condition.
