James Middleton Cox was a success at everything he tried, except for when he ran into a Harding. He lost the 1920 election to Warren Harding. His first wife, whom he divorced in 1911, was Mayme Simpson Harding Cox. There are no hints of any Hardings on this scarce Cox campaign button from 1920. It’s a 1 1/4 inch celluloid with a couple tiny print marks right side.
