Congress met on Feb. 28, 1877, to finally settle the results of the 1876 election. This 4 ¾-inch cardboard ticket was for admission to the gallery to watch as Rutherford B. Hayes was proclaimed president in what was the most contested election in US history. Ticket has some stains along top edge.
