Friendship 7 was the name of the Mercury space capsule that carried John Glenn around the Earth. When Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth on Feb. 20, 1962, it closed the gap in the space race with Russia and gave Americans a sense of pride and relief. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid was made to do a little bit of bragging about Glenn’s historic space mission. Excellent condition.
