Charles Evers is the brother of Medgar Evers, famous civil rights leader from Mississippi who was assassinated in 1963. Charles Evers went on to create some history of his own. In 1969, Charles was elected mayor of Fayette, Mississippi, becoming the first black mayor of a Mississippi city since Reconstruction and making the slogan "Hands that picked cotton can now pick the mayor" famous. He later ran for governor and senator. This scarce poster pictures Evers as the man for everybody. It’s a 14 by 17 inch item in excellent condition.
