Legendary printmaker Currier took you to the Washington deathbed with this marvelous print from 1846. The framed, 14 1/2 by 18 1/2 inch print shows the scene when Washington passed away. It pictures a friend, doctor, Martha Washington and grandchildren, and “domestics” mourning the loss of the great man. Nathaniel Currier started his career in lithography in the early 1930s. He joined with James Merritt Ives in 1957 to form the famous Currier and Ives Co. This beautiful print in excellent condition is from the pre-Ives days.
