It was Al Smith Day on Sept. 2, 1928, and this pin was there. It’s a celluloid pin with attached ribbons stating the date of the event. We’re not sure where the event was held, but the back paper holds a clue: the button was made by William Brown Co. of Providence, Rhode Island, maker of “Badges, Banners, Flags, Buttons, Society Goods, Etc.” The scarce 1 1/4 inch pin and ribbons are in excellent condition.
