Alexis U. Coates was the Prohibition Party candidate for governor of Iowa in 1901. This rare celluloid pin pictures Coates, who was 43 when he ran for governor and more than three decades later ran for senator on the Prohibition ticket. Celluloid, 1 1/4 inch, excellent condition.
