A spectacular pin that unites the “Kings of Flight” – the Wright Brothers – with the man who became the King of Ohio Politics – James M. Cox. This rare 1 3/4 inch celluloid welcomes the Wrights back home to Dayton in June of 1909 after a triumphant visit to Europe where they displayed their airplanes. At the time, Cox was a newly-elected congressman who had made a name for himself as owner of the Dayton Daily News. His campaigns for governor and the presidency were still in the future. Whitehead and Hoag back paper, excellent condition. When will one of the hundreds of lookers and watchers step up and bid! This pin has the second most hits and watchers of all items that still do not have a bid and sixth most hits of any item in the auction.
