William Russell was governor of Massachusetts from 1891 to 1894 and was a Democratic presidential hopeful in 1896. This is one of the few Russell for president pins we’ve ever seen – he died on July 14, 1896, at the age of 39 while on a fishing trip in Quebec. This 7/8 inch celluloid has a print mark right side and still has original Whitehead and Hoag back paper.
