This scarce suffrage item was created to further the cause of women’s suffrage in New Jersey. It’s a 1 inch celluloid with Women’s Political Union of New Jersey back paper. New Jersey was a pioneer in votes for women: after the revolution until 1897, it was the only state that allowed women to vote. That right was revoked and a more than a century later this pin was made to get it back. Excellent condition.
