One of the hardest to find of all Harry Truman’s pins, this 1 inch celluloid also has a fantastic story behind it. Eddie is Eddie Jacobson, close friend and former business partner of Harry Truman. Eddie talked often with Truman about the plight of the Jewish people, and when Truman refused to meet with Israeli leader Chaim Weizmann Jewish leaders called Eddie in to help. He convinced Truman to meet with Weizmann and Truman then changed his mind on recognizing the new nation of Israel. Jacobson’s friendship with Truman ended up being an integral part in Israel’s survival. This pin reminded Jewish voters that Truman was Eddie’s friend. An exceptionally rare item and one of the most sought-after Truman pins of them all. Excellent condition.
