Booker T. Washington’s visit to the White House for dinner was a landmark event in the history of race relations. The dinner caused quite a stir and was memorialized on this rare celluloid pin. It’s a 1 1/4 inch celluloid that showed the president was willing to treat a black man as an equal. This pin has special significance because of the historic nature of the event. Whitehead and Hoag back paper, excellent condition.
