This pin and ribbon combination was made for the 1928 Democratic State Convention held in Grand Rapids. The rare 2-inch celluloid with attached ribbon supports Al Smith for president and William Comstock for governor. Comstock was nothing if not persistent: he lost elections for governor in 1926, 1928 and 1930 before finally winning in 1932 -- the losing again in 1934. This rare jugate is a real beauty, excellent condition.
