The Trenton 6 case stemmed from the murder of a white storekeeper in Trenton, N.J. in 1948. Six blacks were convicted of the killing. Before all the legal battles ended, the Communist Party and the NAACP weighed in to help the defendants. Thurgood Marshall, a future Supreme Court justice, was part of the NAACP team. Four of the six eventually were found not guilty on appeal. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid is a May Day communist pin made to support the defendants. Excellent condition.
