A very special Roosevelt-Garner jugate from the 1930s. This 7/8 inch celluloid features especially sharp photographs and a dynamic design. Garner was known as “Cactus Jack” because while a Texas legislator he supported naming the prickly pear cactus the state flower. While he and FDR look calm enough on this pin, they were rivals for the nomination in 1932 and while serving as vice president Garner often disagreed with Roosevelt’s policies. Pin has St. Louis Button BP, excellent condition.
