Ronald Reagan was running for president long before his successful 1980 campaign. Reagan was elected governor of California in 1966 and two years later he was in the hunt at the Republican National Convention. Reagan didn’t publicly declare his intentions until the day the convention opened and finished third in the balloting behind Richard Nixon and Nelson Rockefeller, but the foundation was being laid. This 3 inch celluloid is a scarce Reagan presidential pin from 1968, excellent.
