A rare Alton Parker reception committee ribbon from the 1904 campaign. Parker initially ran a front porch campaign from his home in Esopus, New York, but as things turned out there just weren’t a lot of people who wanted to travel to Esopus. Late in the campaign left the porch and hit the road but it is unlikely he could have done anything to defeat Theodore Roosevelt. This rare campaign item is a 1 3/4 inch celluloid with Baltimore Badge back paper and an attached 6 3/4 inch reception committee ribbon from Oct. 10, 1904. Excellent condition.
