Theodore Roosevelt returned from his highly publicized African safari on June 18, 1910. He received a hero’s welcome in New York City and gave a speech to thousands at the Battery. He later returned to his home at Oyster Bay. This are item is a badge made to welcome TR home. It’s a celluloid fob with attached ribbon and pin at top featuring the date of his return. Measures 4 inches in all, excellent condition. More people have had an interest, hits and bids, on this item than any other in Session I of this auction.
