Theodore Roosevelt is pictured on a bucking bronco on this rare celluloid pin. It says “Our Teddy Never Pulls Leather.” Pulling leather is a rodeo term that refers to reaching down to grab the saddle, a move that results in disqualification. Saying Teddy never pulls leather shows he is a true rough and tumble cowboy (not to mention a rough and tumble politician). The pin is a 1 1/4 inch celluloid with metal frame, light scratch at top center, made by the St. Louis Button Co. From the John Foote TR collection we have had this pin twice in the last ten years selling for $1500 and $2400.
