Americans were absolutely enthralled by solar eclipses at the turn of the 20th century. Big scientific expeditions were publicized in 1896 and 1900 to study eclipses and the celestial events became a leading topic, even on political pins. This classic celluloid pin shows William McKinley ready to eclipse William Jennings Bryan in the November election. It’s a rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid in excellent condition.
