Joe Louis was one of the great heavyweight champions of all time – and he was a landmark of sorts in politics. Louis endorsed Wendell Willkie for president in 1940, making him one of the first African-American celebrities to actively be used in a campaign. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid pictures the champ in his role as a Willkie supporter. Excellent condition.
