Before Jack Ruby became famous for shooting Lee Harvey Oswald, he ran the Ervay Theatre in Dallas. Ruby managed the theater in 1953; this 3 by 8-inch check is dated July 15, 1953 and is made out for $5 to Grapette. Apparently, Jack was buying some soda pop for the concession stand. Excellent condition.
