Herbert Hoover and Charles Curtis are pictured on this classic celluloid jugate. They made quite a pair: Hoover was an engineer by training who made a fortune in Australia and China and later led relief work in Europe after World War I. Curtis was the first vice president with acknowledged Native American ancestry – his mother was a Kaw Indian and as a boy Curtis spent a lot of time with his grandparents on an Indian reservation in Kansas. This 1 1/4 inch pin is in excellent condition.
