Harry Truman never was one to mince words. In 1950 for the Missouri U.S. Senate race, President Harry Truman supported Emery Allison, a Kansas City Pendergast Democrat over Thomas Hennings. When Hennings won the nomination and then the election, "Harry was Sorry". Hence the "Harry is Sorry" pin. This very unusual celluloid pin says it for him. It’s a 1 1/4 inch celluloid with a very unusual message in excellent condition. The pin has sold for over $300 several times.
