U.S. Grant and Henry Wilson join forces on this rare 1872 jugate ferrotype. This is one of the toughest of all Grant pieces and we even have the matching Greeley jugate in this auction. Listed as USG 1872-17 in Sullivan, this 1 3/8” jugate is a prime example. A slight bit of fading in Wilson’s name, Grant`s portrait doesn’t quite fill circle, but overall a real beauty. Reverse is raised image of Grant in profile with “For President, U.S. Grant.”
