What a beauty! Ulysses S. Grant and Schuyler Colfax team up on this exceptional ferrotype from the 1868 election. Colfax was Speaker of the House when he was selected to be Grant’s running mate and served only one term – he got caught in the Credit Mobilier scandal and was replaced by Henry Wilson in 1872. This 7/8 inch pin is unlisted in Hake or Sullivan and features a sharp image of the candidates with a cobalt blue border. A spectacular Grant item in excellent condition.
