Ray Becker was a central figure in the Centralia, Washington, shootout on Armistice Day, 1919. Becker, a member of the International Workers of the World Labor Union, and six other Wobblies were in the IWW headquarters, which was on the route of a veterans’ parade held that day. The veterans and the union members ended up in a confrontation that left six dead. The ensuing trial was a national sensation, with eight union members convicted of second degree murder. All eventually were paroled except Becker, who refused parole and finally was pardoned in 1939. This rare 1 inch celluloid pictures Becker. Excellent.
