Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie was a central figure in 20th century history. He traced his lineage to a union between King Solomon and Queen Makeda, better known to us as the Queen of Sheba. His fight against Italy in World War II attracted worldwide attention. He also was seen as a messiah by the members of the Rastafari religion. Selassie was emperor from 1930-1974; this 7/8 inch celluloid pin pictures a youthful king and is from the early years of his reign. Pin is in excellent condition and still has original J.A. Joel back paper.
