Elizabeth Cady Stanton is one of the true giants of the suffrage movement. Her “Declaration of Sentiment” at the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention is considered a defining moment in the creation of the crusade to win the right to vote for women. Stanton was an abolitionist whose interest in equal rights went beyond voting – she also was active in supporting other rights for women. This celluloid pin is a very rare Stanton item made in 1915 to celebrate the centennial of her birth. The 1 1/4 inch pin was created as women were coming close to finally winning the fight Stanton helped start so many years before. The button is in excellent condition and still has original Women’s Political Union back paper. A rare opportunity to acquire this remarkable item!
