When Socialist leader Eugene Debs spoke out against World War I, it resulted in his conviction under the Espionage Act. He was sent to federal prison, but that didn’t stop his political career. In 1920, Debs ran for president from his cell. This rare celluloid pin identifying him as Convict No. 9653 was a part of that historic campaign. Celluloid, 1 inch, excellent.
