James Peabody was elected governor of Colorado in 1902. He was at the center of a mining labor dispute, calling out the militia and plunging the state into armed warfare. This 1 3/8 inch metal pin was a labor item calling for the end of Peabodyism in the 1904 election. The disputed election ended with Peabody losing, then the legislature declaring him the winner, then his resignation with the lieutenant governor taking over – three governors in one day! Excellent condition.
