Charles Evans Hughes came within a whisker of wining the 1916 election – and, by the way, he’s the last major party presidential candidate to sport such a prodigious set of whiskers. Hughes was the former governor of New York and Supreme Court justice who was nominated by the Republicans in 1916. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid features a younger photo of Hughes and is in excellent condition.
