You can tell from the name of the newspaper who it was likely to support in the 1900 election. The Fresno Evening Democrat threw its influence behind William Jennings Bryan on this rare 1 1/4 inch celluloid from California. This pin comes from the wild days of newspapers when many were founded mainly to support one political view or the other. In fact, the Fresno Evening Democrat was founded in 1898 and shut its doors in 1907. Pin has Whitehead and Hoag back paper, excellent condition. From the Bob Atwater collection , perhaps only one known and Bob reduced minimum bid.
