Democrats had a choice in 1904: nominate controversial newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst or go with little-known judge Alton Parker of New York. They wasted little time in lining up behind Parker, a gold Democrat with a history of supporting labor in court cases. While Parker didn’t create a lot of excitement, his campaign items certainly do today. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid is a rare button with a gorgeous design. Items like this were bright lights in what otherwise was a bleak campaign for Democrats. Excellent condition.
