Al Smith’s journey from the streets of New York to an attempt to move into the White House included a stint as sheriff of New York County. Smith was elected sheriff in 1915 and during that time solidified his political base, eventually leading to his election as governor of New York. This rare 15/16 inch celluloid pictures a youthful Smith, has a National Equipment Co. back paper and is in excellent condition. First we recall ever auctioning.
