This 16-page booklet from 1844 features the text of a speech by J.J. Hardin of Illinois in which he warns about James K. Polk and the leaders of Modern Democracy. This rare 6 by 9 1/2 inch item has wear along the edges. Hardin was a Whig congressman and militia general who was killed during the Mexican-American War.
