William McKinley was out to tan the competition with this scarce shell piece and ribbon. The 1 3/4 inch shell piece is printed on both sides with a picture of an animal hide, representing the “Hide and Leather Sound Money Association.” Attached to a ribbon and pin at top, it is in excellent condition.
