John W. Davis and Augustus Owsley Stanley are the candidates on this Kentucky coattail pin from 1924. Very scarce coattail item with Whitehead and Hoag back paper intact. Stanley was a trust-busting congressman before being elected governor of Kentucky in 1915. He was elected U.S. senator in 1918 but his re-election campaign in 1924 came in a bad year for Democrats and he lost to Frederic Sackett. This 7/8 inch celluloid has a Whitehead and Hoag back paper, excellent condition.
