The liberty cap has a long history. Its origin goes all the way back to the Roman Empire, when it became associated with freedom and liberty. It was used in early American coins and was a famous symbol during the French Revolution. It shows up here on a magnificent Parker-Davis campaign pin from 1904. The 1 1/4 inch celluloid is a brightly colored pin in excellent condition.
