John Fremont was the 1856 Republican candidate for president and for a while was the choice of the radical Republicans to run in 1864. This rare 1 inch ferrotype is from 1864 and is in extra fine condition. Reverse pictures his running mate John Cochrane. Fremont withdrew from the race in September of 1864.
