Well, actually, the owner of this pin didn’t see President Kennedy in St. Cloud on Oct. 7, 1962. JFK was scheduled to make a stop there, but had to change plans and addressed the assembled crowd by telephone instead. This rare 2 1/2 inch celluloid was made in anticipation of the visit that didn’t happen. Bigger events were just around the corner – the Cuban Missile Crisis took off one week later with the flight of a U.S. spy plane over the island. Excellent condition.
