Joe Louis not only was heavyweight champion of the world, he also was an African-American political groundbreaker. Louis endorsed Wendell Willkie for president in 1940, saying “I am for Willkie because I think he will help my people, and I figure my people should be for him, too.” This 1 1/2 inch celluloid picturing Willkie is in excellent condition.
