John F. Kennedy’s book “Profiles in Courage” was a best seller and made the young Massachusetts senator famous. In 1956, his supporters pushed hard for JFK to be named vice president on the Democratic ticket. The party went with Estes Kefauver instead and Kennedy later commented that it was fortunate for his future that he didn’t get the VP nomination. This 2 1/4 inch celluloid reads “Winthrop Transcript, A.P. Quigly” on the curl and pictured JFK as a profile in courage. We've sold this pin eleven times in last fifteen yerars and the lowest price it brought was $460.
